Primarily a research facility, the Hawaiian Historical Society houses over 15,000 volumes of historical documents on Hawai‘i and the Pacific—an extensive collection of nineteenth-and early twentieth-century materials, including narratives of early voyages and travels, newspapers, photographs and manuscripts. The Society publishes The Hawaiian Journal of History, the newsletter Na Mea Kahiko, and limited edition books. A guide to the library collections and a list of Society publications are on the website
