	Purpose is to preserve and encourage the preservation of historic buildings, objects, sites and communities relating to the history of Hawai'i; to promote an awareness of and respect for all that is historically significant and architecturally distinctive in our State; and through these efforts, to keep alive and intact for the enrichment of present and future generations the inherent beauty of the Hawaiian Islands and its unique historic role in the development of the Pacific Basin. Founded in 1974, Historic Hawai'i Foundation is a private, nonprofit statewide organization dedicated to the preservation of historic and archaeological sites, objects and cultural traditions of the Islands. Historic Hawai'i has become the leading advocate for preservation, heritage education and cultural tourism in the islands. Twenty-five trustees and over 2,500 members and volunteers are actively engaged in statewide preservation efforts and present a powerful, visible and diverse force encouraging respect for the history and cultural heritage of the Hawaiian islands.
	Programs and tours: Unique tours for HHF Members and guests, preservation presentations during the lunch hour generally once a month. Special events: HHF Preservation Honor Awards, Winter Benefit and Kama'aina of the Year Celebration, Annual "Color a Historic Building" contest for children 2-12 years old Membership: (Corporate & Individuals) $20,000 Heritage Founder, $15,000 Heritage Council, $10,000 Heritage Leader, $5,000 Heritage Patron, $2,500Heritage Benefactor, $1,000 Heritage Associate, $500 Preservation Sponsor, $250 Preservation Supporter; (Individuals) $100 Preservation Partner, $50 Family, $35 Individual, $25 Student/ Senior Parking: parking is available at the Dole Cannery Garage and may include a fee.
