The John Young Museum of Art opened in the renovated, historical Krauss Hall on the University of Hawai’i at Manoa campus on February 24, 1999. The museum features the collections of local painter John Young, with a special focus on the arts of China, Korea, Japan, Southeast Asia and the Pacific. In addition to its exhibition area, the museum houses a small reading room, with art books and furnishings donated by John Young and others.


 
  Collections: Asian, Pacific and African art collection assembled by well-known Hawai‘i painter John Young (1909–1997); Krauss Hall, a 1931 structure originally built as the Pineapple Research Institute
