  Hours: Admission to restored interiors by docent-led tour only; docent tours run Tuesday to Saturday 9:00 am to 2:00 pm; Gallery Tour is self- guided, Tuesday to Saturday 9:00 am to 4:00 pm; closed major holidays. Open 1st Sunday of month for Kamaaina.
Admission: Grand Tour: Adults $20, Youth (5-17) $5, Kamaaina and Military $15; children five and under not admitted; reservations highly recommended, call (808)522-0832. Gallery Tour: Adults $6, Children under 17 $3; Kamaaina Adults $5, Keiki $2.
 
   
 
Built in 1882, Iolani Palace was the official residence of King Kalakaua and Queen Liliuokalani, the last monarchs of Hawaii. The site of coronations, lavish social events and political turmoil, the Palace has been elegantly and meticulously restored with original royal furnishings.

The Grand Tour: includes a historic video capturing the essence of the Palace and the people that brought it to life; a brief tour of the Palace grounds; the restored interiors; and The Galleries for viewing of Hawaiian crown jewels, ancient regalia and royal jewelry.



 
  Collections: historic structures: ‘Iolani Palace, ‘Iolani Barracks, Coronation Pavilion; Furnishings and fixtures, tableware, decorative objects, portraits and historic photographs, clothing, jewelry, books, royal orders, etc. all with connections to the Hawaiian Monarchy prior to 1893-including period substitutes and reproductions.

Programs and tours: guided tours every 15 minutes; video “A King’s Noble Vision” in the Visitor Center in historic ‘Iolani Barracks; workshops/classes, school tours and outreach programs, concerts, permanent exhibitions

Special events: Special events: Queen's Serenade, a musical hookupu to commemorate the birthday of Queen Liliuokalani, first week in September; King Kalakaua Birthday Commemoration, November 16; Queen Kapiolani Birthday Night Tours, last week of December
