Primarily a research archives, the center preserves resources documenting the history of medicine in Hawai‘i. Next door at the Queen’s Medical Center there are exhibits on the history of Queen’s Hospital, founded in 1860 by Queen Emma.


 
  Collections: The medical museum and special library collections on history of medicine in Hawai‘i includes over 4,000 volumes of rare and special collections books, over 10,000 photographs, over 200 medical instruments, 200 linear feet of records and personal papers and videotaped oral history interviews with physicians and other health professionals. The center’s Web site provides access to transcriptions of many original materials including biographies and minutes.

Facilities: Cafeteria and gift shop located in the hospital - not related to museum
